Wondering what to pack for your fishing trip? Check our list of essentials to make your travel most comfortable and enjoyable.
The weather is generally quite warm during the day and cools off significantly at night. The temperature ranges from 50 – 80 degrees Fahrenheit. You do run into some colder days in early June and late August to September.
IT’S BEST TO DRESS IN LAYERS. A quality jacket and pants/bibs with a high waterproof rating like Gore-Tex is highly recommended if not mandatory. If you have a layer of lightweight long underwear and a warm fleece over it that will keep you toasty during cooler weather. Quick drying fabrics are great for shirts and pants, there are many brands out there such as Columbia who offer these. Waterproof boots will be needed in the rain.
** By packing LIGHT you can maximize the amount of fish you can take home.
We recommend medium to heavy action casting or spinning rods from 5 to 7 feet in length. Large spoons and plugs are best for Lakers and Northern Pike. Light spinning tackle and small lures or fly equipment is best for Arctic Grayling. Len Thompson lures, such as #4 – 5 diamonds, ruby eyes, red devils, and silver flashy spoons are recommended for trolling. As well, we recommend buzz bombs, weighted hooks and 2 oz jig heads with 6-8 inch rubber tails for jigging for lake trout.

Namur Lake Lodge is fully equipped with first aid supplies and staff have first aid training and experience. The Lodge also has radio/telephone communications and any emergency requiring additional assistance or transport can be addressed quickly. We recommend each guest check their medical coverage in the unlikely event of an air ambulance evacuation being required. Although such instances are very rare, it is wise to have adequate insurance coverage. https://www.albertarelm.com/licensing.page
